The way it looked in a glass of scotch, the slow melt, and how the ice elevated the entire drinking experience left a lasting impression. Years later, while enjoying a drink at a luxury hotel in Los Angeles, he noticed the same sphere ice—but this time it wasn’t handmade, it was purchased.

That was the “aha!" moment: What if there was a machine that could create clear ice spheres automatically, at scale, for venues that wanted the experience without the sourcing headaches?
